Caring For Your Leotard

We know how much you value your leotard, and we want to help you keep it looking and feeling fantastic for as long as possible! By following the simple care tips below, you can extend the life and appearance of your leotard and ensure it stays in top condition.

Caring for your performance leotard

🌟 After wearing your leotard

Once your performance is over, we recommend taking off your leotard as soon as possible and turning it inside out. This allows moisture to evaporate naturally, rather than getting trapped in the fabric — which helps to prevent any discolouration or fabric deterioration.

🧼 Washing

To keep your performance leotard looking its best, here are a few things to avoid:
🚫 Machine washing
🚫 Bleach, regular detergents, or fabric softeners
🚫 Twisting or wringing out the garment
🚫 Tumble drying
🚫 Ironing
🚫 Drying over radiators or near direct heat
🚫 Leaving the leotard damp or wet for extended periods

And here’s what you can do:
✔️ Turn the garment inside out
✔️ Hand wash separately in cold water
✔️ Use a small amount of mild, neutral and unscented soap (avoid standard detergents – we’re happy to recommend options if you’re unsure)
✔️ Gently wash in plenty of water, avoiding scrubbing
✔️ Roll in two towels to gently press out excess water
✔️ Hang to air dry on a hanger away from direct heat – no pegs please, as they can mark the fabric

Please note

  • If your performance leotard has been made with mesh sleeves and/or skirt as well as crystals, these are not designed for everyday use. Over time, repeated wear and washing may naturally affect stretch, strength and appearance.
  • Alcohol-based products like perfumes, hairsprays, and deodorants can damage delicate fibres. We recommend using an antiperspirant deodorant to help protect your leotard.

Caring for your training leotard

Keep your training leotards in tip-top shape with these easy steps:

✔️Turn the leotard inside out before washing
✔️Place inside a pillowcase to protect against abrasion
✔️Machine wash on a gentle cold cycle
🚫Do not use bleach, fabric softeners, or harsh detergents
✔️Remove promptly from the machine and hang to dry - avoid using pegs as these can mark the fabric
🚫Never leave folded while wet
🚫Do not lay flat to dry

🔹 Recommended Detergent: Pure soap flakes or a very mild detergent
⚠️ Please note: Most modern laundry products contain bleaching agents and can damage your garment. We can’t accept responsibility for garments not washed in accordance with these instructions.
